NGC 1760-61-63-69 Nebula and Open Clusters in LMC

These objects of several open clusters and their sourrounding nebulae named NGC1760,NGC1761,NGC1763 and NGC1769 can be found at the noth side of the Large Magellanic Cloud in the constallation of Doradus.

NGC1760 is an emission nebula, also named LHA120-N 11,the other NGC objects are OCs.The small bubble to the extreme right  is the Supernova remnant N11L.

At a real distance of about 160.000 light-years,this is one the largest known star formation areas, yet surpassed by the famous Tarantula nebula (30 Doradus). The oldest stars, bright, blue and massive, can be found inside NGC1761.

All these objects were fist seen by James Dunlop in 1826.
