NGC6902 Galaxy in Sagittarius

NGC6902 is an active spiral galaxy of Hubble-type SA(r)b in the constellation of Sagittarius.Sized 5.60 × 3.9 arcmin. and a visual brightness of 11mag.it can be observed with mid-sized telescopes of 6inch aperture or larger.

The real distance of this multi-armed galaxy is about 125mio.light-years away from our own milky-way.Together with the galaxy IC4946 (not on this photo) other weak examples it´s forming the NGC6902 galaxy-group.

NGC6902 was dicovered by John Herschel in 1836.
