NGC6845 Galaxy-group in Telescopium

Consisting of 4 interacting galaxies NGC6845 (ABCD) this small galaxy-group in the constellation of Telescopium resembles a little bit to the famous northern group of Stephan´s Quintett.

Occupying an sky-area of 4´x 2´ arc-min. and beeing not brighter than 13mag visually, the largest member of this quartett is the barred spiral galaxy NGC6845A,typed SBb.The real distance of

these galaxies could be determined to some 280mio.light-years.

2008 there happened the supernova-event SN2008DA.

NGC6845 was first seen by John Herschel in 1834.
