This SB(s)cd-Hubble-typed barred-spiral-galaxy sized 3,6′ × 2,2′ and of an apparent brightness of 11mag.can be found in the constellation of Fornax.

Its real distance of about 63mio.light-years allows us to detect some irregular structure in its center an also many star-formation regions in its inner spiral-arms..

NGC1385 was first seen by William Herschel in 1784.
