NGC1055 is a SBb-type and 11.4mag bright galaxy in the constellation of Cetus, not far away frmm the famous Messier-galaxy M77 (https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap141226.html).
These two are separated by only 442.000 light-years and there could be detected a small and dimm material brigde between them in very deep-surveys.This is part of the Dr. David Martinez-Delgado Star Stream Survey.Quite a lot of these material-streamers could be detected in the inverted-vision- picture down on this page.
Its real distance is about 50 Mio light-years with a real diameter of about 115.000 light-years.To the observer it appears as nearly edged-on with an diameter of 7,6 arc-minutes.
It was first detected in 1783 by Friedrich Wilhelm Herschel.
