NGC1792 is a hydrogen-rich galaxy of the apparent size of 5.5´x 2.6´ situated in the constellation of Columba.With a brightness of about 10.5mag it can be easily be observed with even mid-sized telescopes from sites far south..
The real distance of this SA(rs)bc-typed spiral galaxy is about 56 mio.light years.Because of its richness of hydrogen,this galaxy must be a place for massive star formation.
